Wednesday Nights begin at 5:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall (our churchy name for the basement!)

Wednesday nights are all about spiritual formation. We begin by sharing a delicious meal together before engaging in important work designed to sink us deeper into the heart of our faith. Our children head upstairs for a beautiful, simple, creative hour of sacred storytelling and play — while adults remain downstairs for Bible study. From Christmas to Pentecost this usually takes the form of careful, in-depth, group study of a single book of the Bible, but in the summer and fall we often explore a range of topics related to spiritual formation and Christian education. At the moment, the adults are exploring the inspirational lives of Christian saints.

Choir practice also takes place on Wednesday nights, but a bit later in the evening to allow everyone the chance to eat and study together. Our volunteer choir (bolstered by a few students from Morehead State University) helps to lead us in worship almost every Sunday and they sing a wide variety of material. Anyone who wants to make a joyful noise is welcome to join a rehearsal!
